2003 Citreon Xsara Picasso
Hi all,
My wife drives an automatic 2.0l Cit Xsara Picasso and we are finding it very expensive to run with the ever increasing fuel prices.
She needs an automatic and drives mainly around town. The road tax is also very expensive.
Therefore we are looking to change the car and like most people we want to go 'greener'
So can anyone give us some advice for a suitable car that meets the following requirements -
Less than £6000
Automatic
Room for 2 Adults and 2 Children
Load road tax
Good fuel consumption
High driving position
Any help and advice wil be greatfully received.
Thanks
Paul. :j

If you still want a xsara picasso, do their HDi engines not come with an auto gearbox? They do a 1.6 and 2.0l diesel, just not sure about the transmissionLBM - 30/07/09

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies so far.
It does not need to be another Picasso, just something really cheap to run and tax. I am also looking a new cars which are smaller.
Its just a little confusing with the choice of cars!

If you can lose the height - the Toyota Prius is Auto and 'green'. Might push the budget a bit.
As for the consumtion - try and find a DSG/CVT derived system as the auto systems do not sap the power in the same wayPraying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
