Where to buy Czech currency?

I was there 2 weeks ago and got my currency from the Post Office here before I went. There were better exhange rates at the booths over there by about 2 Krona (not much difference really).

Watch out for taxis and agree a price before you get in. Pay no more than 500 - 600 from the airport to the centre and vice versa. Some might point you to other guys to ask first and these are mafia run taxis and get first shot at offering you a price (still safe to use mind). However if you can't agree a price with them the first taxi driver is free to negotiate with you.

A 72 hour tram pass cost us 220K (£5.50) and was a cheap way to get about.

Beer is roughly 40k (£1) or more at centre bars in main areas or 17k (40p) at bars off the main path.

we found the rates were better on the border when we drove over there and the same goes for the polish currency

of course the atm also gives a better rate than changing it before you go too

also change it back before you leave as that rate is also better than over here

My OH has been living in Prague for nearly five years through his job.

What ever you do, do not be tempted to change money on the street. You will be approached and offered a seemingly tempting deal. The notes they supply are either out of date or counterfeit. My hubby still gets people coming up to him. He tells them in Anglo Saxon where to go.

They are loads of Bureaux D'Change in Prague as well as at the airport.
