Please Help 14 year old going mad

I have just bought a belkin 54g router and connected it to the main computer - had not trouble in my lap top finding the wirless connection - but my sons computer cannot find it - it can find my neighbours secure bt hub but not the belkin I have tried everything as much as my computer knowledge allows - he is running vista can anyone help?????

    have you turned wireless on on the router? change the router's channel , maybe its conflicting with the bt one, follow tom's advise

    Log in to it, the same way you did when setting it up. Have a hunt around in the settings. I think the default will be 11. There should be some documentation that came with it which will give more information.

    While you're at it, change the default username and password if you haven't already done so! (For logging in.)

    as the router is working fine with the laptop i wouldn't change anything there until i had ruled out problems with the pc if you make changes on the router you may lose connection thru the laptop which i presume you are using to view this forum
    Try removing all networking protocols on the pc and going thru same setup you performed with the laptop 1st
    click here to achieve nothing!

    You may not be able to change the user name, some routers do not let you.

    I would advise leaving the user name as it is "admin" is standard but I would change and use a strong password.

    And make sure you make a note of it and print it out for safe keeping.

    Stick a copy on the underside of the router.
