XP PC infrequent crashes!

Options
Recently my XP PC started to crash for no apparent reason? I get blue screen with lots of funny numbers and text but before I could read and try to make some sense out of it, pc reboots itself. I appreciate it would hard to pinpoint a reason for crash but thought would be helpful if I could somehow have the option to read the blue screen with white text?
Does anyone know if that ‘crash info’ is recorded on the PC for later retrieval? Is there any self diagnostic software available which could help me to the cause of the crash?
Thanks guys in advance!
cheers

Flying windows key + Pause, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery button, Uncheck "Automatically restart" then OK. This should allow you to make a note of the error message and google for info. You may find some useful info in the Event Log - Right click Manage, Event Viewer on My Computer.
