IB medical how long until you hear results

Hello,

Please can anyone advise how long it usually takes for you to hear the results of a medical. My husband been on IB went for medical this week and is anxious to know result, it is causing stress, if we know aprrox how long at least we would have a time line to work too.

    It can vary a bit depending on where you live. I had a medical last march (15 months since ish) in north lancashire and heard back within a week that I had passed

    I would say allow a couple of weeks at least and am sure you will have heard by then

    You should hear within about 3 or 4 weeks, but it can be quicker or sometimes take longer.

    It can take a good couple of months.
    As someone says it seems to depend on where you live.

    Wow what a difference in all the time scales, we live in lancs, does anyone know why there is such a difference is it just location, or are other factors involved.

    They didn't let us know:mad:. Hubby went to draw the money from the bank one Friday and it wasn't there. Phoned up to be told they didn't know why it hadn't been paid and that it would be in the account by Wednesday. Wednesday we received a letter to inform him that he hadn't got enough points and that it had been stopped:mad: . He appealed and won, but it took 5mths.

    I think it is due to the workload and efficiency of the office dealing with your claim. If you want you can ring them to see what the likely timescale will be.

    I have once had it take couple months and most recently a few weeks. If you waiting a long time I think it is a good sign tho, as they will usually not waste time stopping the benefit if its a bad result.
