Could I remind everyone that offering to send or swap vouchers/tickets is not allowed on this site.
Quote from THIS RULE

Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.

Can I just ask, I recently offered my Red Bull Flugtag tickets free to a good home to the first person to PM me because my plans had changed. Someone sent me their e-mail address and I sent them the details to print off the tickets.
These tickets were mine to give away so was this ok?
It's done now anyway and we had no problems but I just want to make sure I haven't broken the rules for future reference.:wave:0 -

So which bit of the above posted rule do you not understand then?
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I didn't ask for a sarcastic reply espresso, just a simple answer would be fine thanks. The bit I don't understand is:
Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts.
Am I not allowed to offer anything at all, even if it is mine to give away?
Helpful answers greatfully received.:wave:0 -
Thanks millionaire. I won't be so naughty in future.:wave:0

You would have needed contact details for someone to send them tickets. The rule is very clear on this...Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details (personal details can include name, address, email address, etc) either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts.
Martin has also made it clear why this rule is in place.........The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount.

As Rex said, it doesn't matter how honourable your intention, you shouldn't be exchanging personal details such as e-mail addresses etc to protect your self as much as anything. I get it now.
It's a shame but not all people are as nice as us.:wave:0 -
There are many sites set up to give away or swap unwanted items. Freecycle is my favourite.
By making this rule, Martin has made clear that he doesn't want it happening on MSE. He is trying to keep members as safe as possible whilst using this site. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Well thank you so much for that simple, non sarcastic reply espresso.
Perhaps I can draw your attention to forum etiquette:Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
