As Rex said, it doesn't matter how honourable your intention, you shouldn't be exchanging personal details such as e-mail addresses etc to protect your self as much as anything. I get it now.

It's a shame but not all people are as nice as us.

Oh well, there is always some anal idiot who has nothing better than to do than to be just that! :)

I would assume bumblesquat made a genuine mistake in offering the tickets, but a simple "you are not allowed to do that" reply would have sufficed, instead of the sarcastic, and frankly unhelpful replies he has been getting, this site is extremely large, and many, including myself, could easily have failed to read one or more of the rules, or simply misinterpreted them.
Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years
  • why is everybody bieng so rude & sarcastic??

Although I understand the danger of giving out personal details, I don't see the need of being this rude and sarcastic.

I wonder why nobody shouted in the "Afrika! Afrika!" thread, which has been viewed 61441 times so far and made many people ,who managed to get unwanted tickets, very happy!?

Shame I can't offer up some unwanted Red Bull Flugtag tickets now!

This is partly why I posted this thread. I completely understand that many members do not know all the rules (I've made mistakes myself over the years since I joined). There have been many threads/posts recently that are covered by this rule, and I just wanted to remind people (or make them aware) of this rule.

Welcome to MSE by the way (and to all the other newbies). I have saved many thousands of pounds over the years since I joined this site. I hope that you all realise the usefulness of the site that can do the same for you.

Join your local Freecycle group. It's a fantastic site for giving away unwanted goods (you may even see something offered there that is useful to you....I gave away a perfectly good car on there once).

Freecycle is great, HOWEVER, their rules state that you cannot offer vouchers/tickets etc as they can easily be recycled for road side collection...its a huge waste of a free holiday!!

Anyone now of anywhere where we can offer to swap holidays and tickets without breaking the rules??

I know we always have things like this to offer and i was recently kicked off freecycle for offering a free voucher for a family day out to cadbury world...a family had a great day out that they wouldnt have had without the voucher but it made things very difficult for me so i wont be doing that again!!

Thanks for the op, I guess we all make mistakes. I offered a swap a few weeks ago and thankfully no one took me up on it. It's good there are so many people on this site who can correct and give advise without it appearing like an attack.
