Wow, only 3.7mb, lighter than Firefox, and from the stats I've read it loads/renders pages faster than Firefox too.
Just installed it, and it's looking version polished (I haven't used Opera since v7). I may have to consider this my new browser of choice. I'll probably stick with Firefox for development though due to the brilliant extensions available.
Well done Opera."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
This is excellent news.
I've always liked Opera, and found it to be quicker than IE and Firefox. My only gripe has always been the adverts.
In all the debates about which browser is the most secure. Everyone always only considered IE and Firefox. Opera has had the least amount of vulnerabilities by far. When a problem has been found in the past, they've always come up with the fix very quickly before it became a major problem.
I've switched to the new version. It looks and feels excellent. MS and Mozilla have got some serious competition on their hands now!How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I'll need to give Opera a go now. I've spent a lot of time making the toolbars on my browser as small as possible so Opera's ads were always a dealbreaker for me.
I'm afraid I'm competely hooked on Firefox plugins.
Just downloaded the next version of Scrapbook extension. That's a whole application in itself!
There's a new firefox based browser in early testing which looks really interestng ( if I could just remember its name ) I put my name on their mailing list a few days ago0 -

Seems strange then that they were giving away free licences not too long ago.
It's a nice browser but I don't think it's as good as Firefox or Internet Explorer.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

I have to say, so far I've been very impressed by Opera. Just the way it's laid out and functions really works for me. Plus it's got lots of little extras that just add to its value, like the Trash can (restoring a window you closed accidentally), and remembering what windows you last had open when you load up, and sessions.
There's plenty of options and ways of customizing it. It does lack Firefox's array of extensions, although I only really use them occassionally.
Really tricky chosing, but I think I prefer it to Firefox."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
