My PC is off tomorrow so I'll be using my laptop for the foreseeable future.
Is there anyway of exporting my emails from outlook on the PC and importing them into outlook on the laptop so I dont lose them?
Thanks

Cannot you not just forward/transfer them to your laptop? USB flash drive would do the job also.
I'm not that good on computers, so sorry if I've been no help.catch220 -
There is a way to do it, bit long winded though- the backup file location I've mentioned is based on XP, may need to change depending on what OS you're using.
In Outlook on your current PC select
File- import export-export to a file-select personal folder file (pst)
Select what bits you want to transfer (inc subfoders) you can select mailbox to do everything.
Save as something you can find later, e.g. ‘backup.pst’
Copy the file to a CD or other media, transfer to your laptop- C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\backup.pst
Start Outlook
File-import-export- import from another program or file-select personal folder file (pst) find your backup file on the hard drive and finish.
That should transfer all your emails. Not sure if your email accounts might need to be set up manually. Process can be reversed to transfer the emails back to your PC.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
If you copy the .pst file that outlook uses to store the emails and paste it in to the new machine, you should be able to read them on the new machine. But make sure its the same version of outlook or it can cause problems and dont paste the file over the existing one on the new machine or you'll overwrite them and lose them.
Or if you have xp on the machine you want to move to ie the laptop, create a file and settings transfer disk (start>Accessories>System Tools), run it on the other machine and ask it to transfer emails only, it will then give you the facility to move them and restore on the new machine.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
