Car Insurance - Young Male Driver

Hi All...after a bit of advice. My Car Insurance is up for renewal, my car is only worth £200 so I am only looking for third party fire and theft and am not worried about ahigh excess...but i can still only find quotes for £450+. Any ideas where I can get some cheaper quotes?? Or How I can get the quote down? I've got 1 years NCD, But being a 21 male driver isn't helping! Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

TPFT doesn't take uch notice of how much your car is worth, with it being likely that the 3rd party bit will be claimed on £450 isn't bad if you end up being liable for writing off a £50,000 car?

If your cars only worth £200 is it worth going TPFT...why not 3rd party only?

Try as many different providers as possible...
Try and haggle telling them you have a cheaper quote can they beat it???
Some offer cashback through www.quidco.com which might make it cheaper...
  • dont automatically assume that TPFT will be cheaper.... I went through a stage on my car when i was around that age when FC was the cheapest option.

A few companies claimed that TP only implied i didnt car much for the car, and being so young would probably drive it accordingly....

tbh, 450 for a 21yo on ANY car for ANY level of cover is good going imo. Its about the damage you could potentially do, not the value of the car. My dad always used say it was crazy to let 17yo's behind the wheel of a potential killing machine!
