Tescos Value Potatoes

Couldnt find them today in Tescos, used to be 75p for a bag.

ASked an assistant only to be told they arnt doing them any more so the cheapest potatoes now are 1-95 a bag :confused:

    No, I couldnt find them either, haven't seen them for a while actually. WOuld be interesting to find out if they still do them or if it was just a big marketing ploy

    The old potato season is about finished, so I doubt they can get them at the moment.

    I got a bag of Sainsbury's Basic salad potatoes today for 75p. Very lovely they are too!

    could you not use a sack of spuds (freeze them etc), or even share one with somebody, i'm always gobsmacked at the price of them in the supermarkets, i pay somewhere between £6 & £7 for a whole sack.

    Ive never frozen spuds because we go through a sack about every 3 wks or so, and they last ok for that lengh of time, but there is a thread on here about freezing spuds, i read it the other day.

    Had a quick look, it seems you have to parboil, and then freeze. Also found a post where someone part fried chips, and then froze, and another where mash was frozen.

    When raw whole spuds get frozen in the winter they go all black and stinky,

    I have bought Tesco value spuds before, but I've also come away/had delivered 'dud spuds'. Smelly and yukky

    Did the same myself and despite being salad potatoes they worked really well in the slow cooker :D
