Hello, I have a problem with my internet connection on my 6 month old lap top. It keeps not working, there is no pattern to when it works and when it doesn't. Virgin the internet provider (who have cost me a bomb in phone calls to them) . They say it's not a problem with my internet connection, it is the computer. Virgin says it's a virus on my computer freezing the internet connection.
Is this likely? Or are they blagging me. I don't want to get someone out to looko at it when it is so new and it all costs so much.
Any ideas please???
Thanks for your time.

Virginmedia printout of possible causes for internet problems are
in no particular order
1. it is your antivirus
2. it is your firewall
3 it is your router - virgin do not support home netwroking.
which was strange with my connection problem as I had to physically hold my ethenet cable into my modem to get it to work. which tells me the socket was faulty. but they blamed my antivirus until I told them to come and rip the cable out or send me a new modem. which they did in 24 hours.
see if you can test the internet connection with a different PC to at least check that isnt an issue.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
