Ryanair: Expensive Flights Discussion Thread

Options
(previously Ryanair: I don't come here often but they've annoyed me again Thread)

I booked (expensive) flights for the summer with Ryanair some time ago.

Today I get an email giving me the option of a refund, a mystery travel credit or like it or lump it (the out of the blue 9 hour schedule change which totally b*ggers up my hotel booking and car hire arrangements).

I clicked one of the links in the email to the travel credit claim form looking for details of what the travel credit might be. There is a link on the form to Travel Credit Ts & Cs so I thought great, I'll click on that.

Page Not Found - slippery bloody outfit!

So being a TalkTalk International customer with free international calls I think, right you bastewards, I'll call you.

So I called the Irish number (five times to be exact so far) and haven't managed to talk to anyone yet about anything.

GRRRR!!!

Waits for the s**t to hit the fan!! Don't hold your breath mate, you will only get replies on here from those that are so high up on their pedestal that they are breathing thin air. (checks spelling)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

DON'T take the credit! AFAIK its something you can only use by phoning their premium rate number!

Hi peterbaker, I've moved this to the (Consumer) Vent Board :)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

How many weeks before travel did you book the flights?

Take the money and run! Its not often Ryanair offer a refund, but they have so just take it... if the new flights don't suit you then why wouldn't you take it?

As i'm sure you expect, the travel credit will probably have so many terms and conditions it will be as good as useless, so take the money and rebook if thats what you want to do?! Don't really see the problem?

About 20 weeks Richard ... should it make a difference?

They are a complete law unto themselves. Unregulated rabble...

These are summer holiday flights to Spain for goodness sakes. Ryanair knows that which is why the prices were high in the first place. But they still think they can just b*gger around with the schedule to suit whatever cunning plan they have dreamt up this week. I suppose they now fancy filling up the return sector at £200 a hit, and to fill it brim full in the summer they need to be sure they have a cooler night-time temperature so they can stagger into the air.

Mind you, it is a 10000 foot runway so the temperature surely can't be that much of a problem.

They just don't care do they? Bloody cheek!

Like i have said before Peter - if you don't like ryanair and the way they operate don't use them.

    Its as simple as that.

Like I've probably said before, blue haddock, you are about as much use as a chocolate teapot when you make utterly pointless comments like that.

I guess like all other very ordinary lemmings, you'd countenance jumping off a cliff if it was a nice day for it.

You are as simple as that...

You have reminded me again why I'd more or less stopped bothering with MSE. Quite simply, it is populated with far too many air-brains.

The moderators have also given me a very good clue that MSE can't really stomach Ryanair criticism anymore such that they've rapidly buried it away from the top of the Travel forum so it doesn't clash with promoting Ryanair's 1p flights.

I am far from impressed by Ryanair or MSE this week. As for you blue haddock, well ... was I ever? And you bagand96. What am I supposed to do with the money back in my pocket? Rebook you say? Rebook what? A flight that no longer exists? Very useful advice I don't think.

Be thankful that you can get your money back and walk away from Ryanair. So all you have to do is book flights with a proper airline.

What a surprise, if you disagree with peterbaker you get a lengthy personal attack from him. Classy, very classy.
    Gone ... or have I?
