I recently had the need to call and electrician out due to fauult which kept tripping electrics. Fortuanatly I was covered under home serve policy and electrician came out within and hour(on a saturday). Spent couple of hours here and it was only when he told me the cost to home serve that I felt the insurance was worth while.
I also have cover for plumping, internal and external pipes and so on under a number of dfferent policies.
I recently failed to renew as again I though they were getting a bit expensive. I have again price compaired and found a few cheaper policies but when you sign up for every eventuality, it al adds up.
Having not renewe I have just recieved a call from home serve asking why. Again said it was down to cost.
I have just been offered what I think is a great deal to cover every eventuality ie plumpbing, electricity, external and intenal pipes ad so on. Also included is the central heating breakdown cover.
Just quoted at £26.00 per month. I think this is a realy good deal unless someone can point me to a better one?

I am paying £28 with BG Home care 400 and it usually goes up ever year. I do not like the plumbing with dynorod as they find any little excuse not to fix the problem. E.G called plumber to check leaking cistern since the fitter forgot to crews it on the wall, dynorod refused to do the job. I am going to check homeserve. I must say I have always been happy with the service I got from british gas engineers.0

Hi dexterlevi, I've moved this to the 'In my home (includes DIY)' Board

There's an article on Boiler/Central Heating Cover you may find useful.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.0
