I had this on prescription about 18 months ago. It cleared my skin up and I continued to use it for quite a few months afterwards. I have sensitive skin and it didn't make my skin red or sore. However, when I got back from a week in Greece last year, I noticed I had really bad pigmentation marks in the places where I had used this lotion in the past (cheeks and chin) . I wasn't sun bathing, I wore SPF30 on my face every day on holiday and a hat (in fact, it was over 100 so I was in the shade a lot of the time). Almost a year on, I still have some marks so if you are using this to clear up spots on your face, and you are planning on going somewhere hot and sunny this summer, I'd be cautious.
