Going back to work - forms/tax/paperwork

I recently was offered and accepted a job which starts in 6 weeks time while currently receiving JSA + Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefits. I need to know the best thing to do and order in which to do them.
Taking the job involves moving house to a new town so I want the move to be as stress free as possible, ideally maintaining my benefits until the last possible moment. What are my responsibilities, if I tell the jobcentre about the offer will it change my entitlement.
I also need to know what paperwork is required for me to take the job. I had completed a one year MA as full time student prior to getting JSA so I don't have a P45 from a previous employer... do I need to fill any forms... will the job centre give me a P45U to hand to my new employer or is there something else I must do?

Hi King Slim,
Welcome to MSE, and congratulations on your new job!
You can tell the DWP and your LA about your new job at any time, and you will still be eligible for benefits until your start date. The only thing is that you need to be actively looking for work until you finish claiming JSA, and if you are moving properties, you will need to start a fresh claim (if applicable) at the new property (the claims will not continue automatically).
The JCP will give you a P45, but it may be quicker to complete a P46 for your new employer.Gone ... or have I?0
