If anyone can help please do....
I am a carer for a child under 16. I receive dla(medium rate & lower mobility) I am paid income support and carers allowance. Does this reflect on the amount of ctc i should be getting? Do payments of ca stop me receiving a higher rate of ctc. At the moment i receive basic ctc. I`m new to this having only become guardian of the child in the last 2 years(she is my step-sister). If anyone has any advice....?

You should call CTC and claim for the Disability element. If you get lower or middle rate DLA.
If its higher rate then there is a Severe Disability element.
If you get told no by the advisor ask them to check with somebody else, the gent I spoke to a few months back had to ask his supervisor as he wasnt sure what I was talking about.0 -
same position as me, but i am not claiming CA yet

You receive DLA for yourself and the child? Or only the child?
You should receive £2085 CTC pa for the child element, a £545 family element and a £2540 disabled element if you have a disabled child.
Total of £5170pa or £99.42pw
You then receive carers allowance on top of this.0
