Actuallyyyyyyy....some agencies don't run a credit check, Capital Spreads and TradIndex don't. If you only deposit cash and are not asking for credit they just check your address details and what you tell them you earn. Better not turn this into a spreadbetting thread though........;)0

Re phantom portfolios - I used to work as a Business Studies Teacher at a prison. As part of their course we ran a "fantasy shares" portfolio.

How have you got spare money to spend on gambling?!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0

A little judgemental methinks......if you have a surplus of less than £99 a month after your living expenses have been taken your allowed to spend that cash on what the heck you wantWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Sorry - that was a bit harsh. I apologise. Is that true then, you just put £99 of surplus cash towards creditors and the rest you keep? I wasn't aware of that....QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0

its not as simple as that...It has to be worked out by the OR with your I&E supplied and wageslips to prove your income (if working) IF you have a surplus of over £99 a month the OR will take 50% of whatevers left this would go on for three years & is called an IPA....if your surplus is £99 or less AFTER your bills etc are paid then its not touched and as I said your free to use on whatever you wantWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

ahh, right. Gotcha. I honestly didn't mean to sound so harsh, I am just surprised that someone who has gone bankrupt and owes money to people has money to spend on gambling!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0

But though if they have the spare cash why not? and some members here involved in this discussion are no longer BR have been discharged some time ago so no longer responsable to the official receiverWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

um, I don't think I said anything about discharged bankrupts? I was just surprised that the OP, who is undischarged, has enough spare cash to gamble, that's all. I'm probably on the wrong side of all this to comment so don't mind me. I just know that if the person who owes my OH money had enough spare to gamble I'd be livid.QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0
