Thinking of upgrading my home phone

Presently we have a Philips Onis 200 answerphone with a slave. My hearing is not what it was at 71 and I would like a phone with more volume. I also see that some are now SMS capable and the ability to send and receive texts could interest me.
Has anyone recommendations for me?

Take a look HERE
I bought these when they were £79.99 and they are great. They are hearing aid compatible. Also have a volume control and an additional earpiece amplification button.0 -
Thanks for that:D, but as per OP my current equipment includes an answerphone.0

On behalf of your friends and family, may I ask you to consider venturing into the loft over the weekend and dumping 1571 a.s.a.p.djohn2002uk wrote: »We use BT Answer (1571) and our answering machine sits in the loft.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
