Building society paying in wages

Ok i have a couple of posts to my name but i'm still thick.
Recently got an A&L premier 21 (50quid cashback
)
I got my first part time job (since turning 18) at asda.
They want me to pay in £100 per month.
I will earn £180 a month to be paid in to this account.
Firstly - My sort code isn't on the new shiny card (it's 70-50-0?)
Secondly - The account number is nine digits - is the 0 on the end there for no reason?
I need to give my payments details in on tuesday and i'm rather confused. Any help will be brilliant thanks.

Do you have a cheque book or a paying-in book? All your employer need is the correct sort code and account number. Both of which can be found at the bottom of your cheque or paying-in slip.0

I've an A&L account and this always confused me. The lst number of your sort code is the first number of our account number. The remaining 8 digits are then the account number. For example if your account number is 123456789 then your sort code becomes 70-50-01 and your acount number is 23456789
Hope this helps.0 -
The explanation will be found...
1. in your welcome pack
2. in the front of your cheque book
3. on their website
...but basically the first digit of your 9-digit account number is the last (missing) digit of your sort code. What's left of the account number is then your conventional 8-digit account number.
PS: A&L are a bank, not a building society.0 -
No cheque book or welcome pack just everything else.
So the first digit is taken off the nine digit account number to form the end of my sort code.
The remaining digits (now 8) is my account number?
I don't fancy my wages going left right and centre.

Because A&L gets more than it's fair share of complaints on here, you could do worse than familiarise yourself with the User Guide and your account T&C's...
