BT are giving away a free sticker to stop unwanted ,intrusive, and irritating callers knocking at your door/ringing your bell.
Presumably the idea is that it will stop someone try and convince you to move your phone service elsewhere!!!
However you might find it handy.
To get one ring 0800 169 8585, you will need your Bt account number to hand.

Then again, it might make them all the more determined to get you to switch energy provider, telecoms provider etc etc. Some people like a challenge.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

Why not do what i do.
Make your own nicely worded sign for the front/back door and put it in a prominent place.
That way they have no excuse when you bring it to their attention immediately before you tell them to Foxtrot Oscar!!!!You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -
Foxtrot Oscar - whatever does that mean ktuludays.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

I already have two of these, one on my front door and one on my back. I picked them up from a local summer fayre where the Police were handing them out.
Unfortunately I still get all kinds of people knocking on my door trying to sell me stuff !! It gets so annoying when you sit down to watch good TV and then there is a knock at the door when you know no-one should be calling after 6p.m. !!! I am sure they are robots with a tape recorder inside their heads !!0 -
the ladies in my street who have those signs say it doesn't stop anyone from calling (except me, i'm an avon rep and i don't bother anyone who has a sign telling doorstop sellers to go away). one house even has a rude sign telling people to sod off, she's forever pinning betterware and kleeneze catalogues onto the trellis next to it, hoping the vendors will get the message.
you could always try your own sign saying don't knock after 6 because there's a shiftworker trying to sleep, or don't wake the baby. our old avon rep used to call after 8pm, it woke up all the kids in the street and drove us mums mad, i'm often in my PJ's/in the bath by 8 and i don't like to answer the door half naked lol!
nice of BT to give these away though, unfortunately i don't have a BT phone number.52% tight0 -
Please be aware that if you have a sticker saying "i'm happy with BT etc" these act like a magnet because they tell the canvasser that you are still with bt or who ever, therefore you are a good proposition for the door knocker.I'm afraid that i speak from experience but have now given up door knocking,if this helps any one then it was worth posting.PS remember that British Gas (Centrica) sells the most expensive gas available always,0

Get yourself a spyhole.
If you don't recognise the person and you don't wish to speak with them, then don't answer. They'll soon get the message. Answer the door at your convenience, not their convenience (unless it is friends/family that have called before hand to let you know they are coming). These people are cutting in on YOUR time and more often than not they don't apologise for that, they just want to flog some guff or other etc. Same goes for telephone calls, any cold callers I just hang up. They are cutting in on your time, don't let them if you don't want them to.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot.
