It might be worth knowing that if you do buy a PSP from them you won't get any warranty as it only covers items located in Japan or wherever you're buying it from.
Do you know what version of firmware psp they sent? (i.e. was it version 1.50?)0 -
It was 1.51. If you're after 1.5 you might want to try ebayMaybe you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see...0

See my thread here for a $5 off $20 purchase coupon on yesasia.com. It's supposed to be for DVDTalk.com customers.0 -
I know you can download the users manual in English but do you have to change the language on the actual psp? Sorry to appear stupid but I'm not very technical minded. My Japanese is not very hot thats all!!!!! :doh:If you always do what you've always done...
you'll always get what you've always gotten0 -
Thanks charlie12. Didn't want to order it and have an irate son on Xmas morning cos he couldn't understand what it said.If you always do what you've always done...

What they say is they will pay VAT NOT import duty which they point out is your problem.0

Nope, items that are reshipped from their UK hub obviously won't be subject to any fees since they have a UK postmark and won't even go anywhere near Mount Pleasant customs office.
Occasionally they will send items straight from HK. They are marked down (with a low value) but of course not all will slip through the net. If a charge is levied by customs, Yesasia will credit the full charges to your account - that includes tax, duty, and royal mail/courier handling fees.
Have you had an order from them that suggests otherwise? If so please let me know as that would be a first.
I can understand the scepticism to a certain extent but if you just do a search on any reputable forum you will not find one case of someone being charged customs fees with Yesasia's standard delivery service. Simple solution is don't buy from them if you have any concerns. Or email/phone them to confirm.0 -
from them. Can`t see anything on their site that suggests item will be shipped from the UK. Maybe I missed it.
They do say....
"We do not charge any sales tax. However, any custom fees or import sales tax levied on international deliveries are the responsibility of the customers."
Obviously if they guarantee it would be shipped from the UK the £26 is a reasonable saving (as long as it does`nt go wrong of course).
If there is a risk of having to pay import duty, maybe it isn`t worth the risk.
Each to there own..... (as always).0 -
They don't mention anything about the UK reshipping, in fact most CSRs deny it when you ask them. Not sure why.
Fair enough that you're going by what the site says, but I'm going by my past experience and reports from many many other people over the last few years. I've ordered hundreds of pounds worth of stuff from them, including limited edition PS2s, PSPs, games, etc, none of which attracted even a penny of fees.
It's likely that they mention the duty on the site as it is a legal requirement to do so, after all, deliberately bypassing custom fees is an offence (and probably illegal).
You'll find that a lot of sites mention custom fees on their site but secretly mark down the value of goods to help avoid fees.
These sorts of things you can only go by experiences, you can't rely on the company as they may not be telling the whole story to cover their !!!!!!.Encantador wrote:If there is a risk of having to pay import duty, maybe it isn`t worth the risk.
