    lol, I totally thought that when I first heard about this! Or if you build a really minging extension that devalues the house - do they give you money?

    No - of course not, they've worded that in already unfortunately.

    However....It appears that once you have planning permission for an area of land (my garden in this instance) then that area of land is effectively released from the contract... I was thinking, if you got planning permission for something relatively cheap - maybe decking (I hear some decking does require PP) then pay the clawback or whatever monies you owe - I'd imagine the rise in value would be relatively low, maybe you could get away with paying a grand or something. Then is that particular bit of land free to build whatever you please on (pending 2nd planning permission) and not have to pay overage on, and not have to inform Annington etc...
