Icesave not participating in Faster Payments (yet)

Thanks to the other forum-ites for their postings about their Faster Payments tests and that the APACS sortcode checker was now available.

I had a look at a number of the regular payments that I and OH make using the sort code checker and the banks/b socs/credit card co's websites.

I couldn't find anything on the Icesave website so I phoned up. The lady I spoke to was quite switched on and told me that Icesave haven't decided if they are going to participate in the Faster Payments service and, if that changes, they'll put an announcement on the website.

I'm disappointed as it would be very handy to be able to get my cash back into one of my bank accounts faster. Also disappointed that Icesave don't have this info on their website already. The other banks/b socs/savings places I checked did have something even if it was only sketchy (which was disappointing as FPS starts in earnest in only a few days).

Any mileage in other MSE-ers giving Icesave a hint that Faster Payments is something customers would like?

Sam

This is odd because if you enter Icesave's sort code (20-32-53) into the Faster Payments sort code checker, it states that Faster Payments can be sent to this sort code. As transfers into Icesave are supposed to be made using their DD system, I don't see how sending funds via Faster Payments to them can work (as the sort code checker suggests), unless maybe, it's just for an initial payment on opening an account, before the DD system's set up.
  • In July I asked Icesave when they would enable withdrawals using Faster Payments.

    The reply was:

I can confirm that we are planning to introduce this new method of payment in the future but I am unable to give you an exact date
