    Hi everyone,

Still organising Mortgage and due to sign tomorrow. I have cut back loads but have bad news.

I applied for An MBNA card following the advice here about transferring some of the O/D. I have just rung them to find out the outcome and they have refused me credit!!!

He said it was because they don't know anything about me and I have no credit cards or loans. I am SO disappointed, I am now stuck with the O/D of 8000 and 100 pounds per month in charges with Lloyds. I feel really rejected! I always thought I was doing the right thing in avoiding credit cards but it has counted against me. The guy was nice on the phone and said apply with your bank first for a card. I don't think Lloyds cards do a 0% balance transfer though do they?

Sorry for rambling.......I now feel trapped!!

    Kate:confused:

I also received a letter from HBOS yesterday as my daughter had shares when Halifax changed to a bank. They were divided between her and my son. My son wanted to cash in the money at 18 (it was 900 pounds) 4 years ago.

Anyway my daughter kept hers and now HBOS has written to her via myself to ask her to put more money into shares. If she doesn't then they will be diluted and they are now going down hour by hour. I feel annoyed that a 17yr old is being asked to prop the bank up like this! I think she ought to sell them before they are worthless.

Has anyone else had the letter?
ps the pound sign isn't working on PC in case you wondered!!

OMG that is so bad:eek: I would get her down to the bank and get her to withdraw these asap. Basically they are saying give us your money or well have some of yours! That really is terrible. Hops she doesnt pay money in and moves her money to a different account like savings.
Especially with whats happeneing due to the credit crunch i would sell them anyway as they soon will probably be worth pennies.

    Good Luck

    xx

    Thanks for the message Laurissa.

I haven't had chance to tell her yet. I know it isn't a huge amount but it is to a young girl. There must be people out there who have lost thousands. I'm popping over to the other board in a while to see what people are doing about it, from what I can make out it is Bradford & Bingley and others doing this too. I suppose I should have looked at the share prices and was a bit naive. I didn't know they were all falling at this rate! It isn't a huge loss as I say but disappointing.
    Cheers,
    Kate xx
