Ebay USA

I ordered two jackets from US ebay, both together was around £80/£90..
When they arrived in the UK they charged me around £60 duty and tax.
Its appalling how much they charged me, but there was nothing i could do about it.
If i ever buy from there again I will definitely be more careful.

It certainly does seem you have possibly been overcharged and can appeal.
I believe clothing attracts 12% import duty
Import VAT is 17.5% (on total price including postage and import duty)
Customs clearence fee is typically £8.00 by Royal Mail - other carriers may charge more but about £12.00 is the maximum I've come across. Whatever it actually was, it would be shown separately on the invoice as it is not reimbursable.
This does suggest you possibly were incorrectly charged, unless you paid almost the same again in postage charges that you haven't divulged."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
