Insurance companies do try it on sometimes.
I was once in a country lane pulling into a garage when a police car sirens blaring tried to overtake as I turned right. They came from around a corner so I couldn't have seen them, or heard them.
Anyway the policeman even ushered away witnesses who were prepared to give a statement as he said it was clearly his fault.
A few weeks later I had a letter saying it would be entered as 50/50. I replied in a letter I wouldn't accept that and would go to court instead if they wanted and explained why.
Needles to say I didn't hear anything else.
So don't be intimidated, I would just send the details to your insurance company and theirs saying no way.Debts: Virgin Card [STRIKE]£5,600[/STRIKE] £5,636, First Direct [STRIKE]£7,700[/STRIKE] £7,000, Halifax [STRIKE]£3,200[/STRIKE] £3,810, Halifax Clarity [STRIKE]£755[/STRIKE] £711, Tesco [STRIKE]£4,005[/STRIKE] £4,450, MNBA [STRIKE]£6,700[/STRIKE] £6,580, Loan [STRIKE]£15,834[/STRIKE] £15,218 Total: [STRIKE](45K at highest) £43,794k[/STRIKE] £43,4050 -
I did the same thing. Reversed off my driveway and someone had stopped at the back of me and I didnt see them. Simple fact (according to my insurance company) the person reversing is automatically at fault.
therefore me!!!
Good job I had protected no claims0 -

Not if it is to enter or leave the highway, a parking space or private dwelling - but it is 'illegal' (against the highway code) to reverse from a minor road on to a major road eg going over the give way lines as if pulling out of a junction backwards.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
