Where's the cheapest utilities for a first time buyer

Looking through the advice on here, it all talks about checking your last few bills and sticking them in comparison sites. That's all good and well if you have previous bills, but we are first time buyers, having recently married and moving out from our parents' houses.
We're getting a 2 bed bungalow, with GCH, electric cooker, electric shower, and we will likely do a wash (and tumble dry) every day (dirty uniforms, and yes we're waiting to hear back about a tax refund for that before anyone asks!)
Who is likely to be cheapest in our case? We're in Lancashire (don't know if different firms operate in different places)

You could try Sainsburys Energy (through their website) , they supply through EDF - they have been consistently cheap for me even after moving into a new house where we had no bills for comparison. But once you have a quarter's bills go and compare so you can switch if necessary.
Also beware they do not overcharge on monthly direct debit - if you build up a credit which is more than two quarters bills ask for a refund - see my post earlier today re direct debit rip-off!0
