Credit score...i'm confused!

Hmm good idea. Last time i checked it did seem to be just the cards id applied for? hmmm it might be better now after the 12months of credit cards (and 1 late payment boo hiss direct debits!)

Maybe see if you can take over the phone contract in your name as that is another positive to add to your credit file? Also, are you planning on having a good deposit saved up as that always help. When we got our mortgage (one year ago) my OH had a squeaky clean credit history and mine was the poorer one. But we had a 15% deposit which I believe pretty much swayed it for us. But, all lenders have different criteria so they all asses differently. Martin has a Mortgage booklet which you can download which is really useful - that may give you a few more tips. When did you last try to get a credit card?

thanks sammy girl. My OH has more debt/loans etc. than me, but i think has always payed them on time. On paper I'm the squeaky clean one, but not acc. to the credit file lol!

Well good luck, keep us updated on how it goes on. I keep meaning to get over to the houses board, but think I will wait until a couple of months before I ch\ange mortgage. I don't want to get too distracted from my DFW jaunts :rotfl:
