Student Insurance

Hi! My daughter is just about to finish her first year at Uni, she has been living on campus, next year her and 3 friends will be sharing a house. What is the best way for them to insure their personal possessions? Should they all get individual contents insurance or is there somekind of group policy for people sharing? They all have laptops, GHD's and other vital student possessions!

Endsleigh specialise in student insurance, so you could give them a go. The thing to remember is that in any shared house, your insurer will slap on a "forced and violent" clause. This means that any theft has to be accompanied by force and violence, so make sure your daughter keeps all of her possessions in her own room and has a lock on her door (and uses it!!).
Once you have spoken to Endsleigh, speak to your own contents insurers and see if they offer any cover as an add-on; it may be cheaper. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
If you have M&S house insurance it covers students personal possessions in a shared house.
Not sure of all the ins and outs but certainly worth considering when you renew your home insurance.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
