i have been looking at credit card charges for our 3 cards. they all charge £12 for late payment fees, overlimit fees and returned dd/cheque payment. a couple of times my husbands pay was late going into the bak so the dds bounced and the charge put us over the limit so we got charge 3 x£12 cn i claim back this or just 2 of the 3 or none? im so confused! dont want to send off and pay £30 for all the charges if i cant claim them. thank you xxxx

You should be able to put in a Reclaim for all of the charges. Please read the Credit Card Reclaim Guide.

However, if your husband is salaried and he's got a regular pay date, maybe you should approach his employers to pay the charges in this case.

they were going through a change of computer system and there was major confusion. we are not allowed to claim back any charges for that period due to some clause with the computer systems people

    thanks

There is no recommended OFT amount. Simply, £12 is a level where the OFT said they would not take action against Credit Card companies. So you can make a claim for all charges at £12.

Re: the employer, personally I would not accept this. I'm not sure what a clause with the computer systems people has to do with your husbands contract of employment.

If he has a written contract with a pay date and it was late, a decent company should offer to pay any bank charges associated with the delay.
