Northern Rock website sign-on

Options
I've just tried to effect a transfer between two NoRo accounts. Got as far as the final confirmation when it said it could not display the page - and, of course, because it was a secure page, using the browser back button doesn't help.

I have no idea whether the transfer has taken place as it now says I am signed in on another session and most close that session before proceeding! Anyone know what the automatic time-out might be to allow me access again?

Just in case anyone else has the same problem - eventually I was able to sign in again in the evening (as I could not wait around at lunchtime). (And the transfer had not happened.)

I had the same problem when I tried to close an account today. Glad it wasn't just me it picked on. I think the session is about 5 mins. When I went back at 6pm the closure hadn't been actioned but was all back to normal and did it then ok.

'm glad it's not just me then! I had a problem with the NR page yesterday when it just "froze". I refreshed the page and got "timed out". I sent an email to their techie department, and suggest you do the same, otherwise they might say the dreaded" "Must be your computer"

    Dear Customer

"Problems with the Northern Rock application can be attributed to insufficient or full Temporary Internet File Cache on your PC. As the Temporary Internet Files folder is used for storing downloaded files from the Internet to allow faster browsing, a regular cleardown and sufficient space is required.

In Internet Explorer/ Tools/Internet Options, click 'Delete files' (make sure you tick: ALL OFFLINE CONTENT) and in the 'Settings' option ensure you have sufficient disk space allocated (approx 20%)"

Usual stock answer, although I did thell them about the posts on here and "suggested" that the problem may lie at their end!

    "Dear Customer,

The problem you are experiencing may be browser specific, caused by faulty software or unwanted plug-ins. To confirm this please try to access the web site using an alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox.

    Firefox is available from http://www.mozilla.org

I had a similar problem here - using firefox

Set up Mrs B with an E saver a/c and needed to 'fund it' from my a/c

Couldn't remember my a/c no, so logged in (using 'open a new tab') to my a/c, then near the end got a 'general system error' went to 'continue' and was then logged into my a/c on the page that I'd been using for Mrs B. ???
Went back later and the half opened a/c for Mrs B was still there 'pending' and it all opened fine.
