Hinges for built-in wardrobes?

Hi All,

I have just finished building a built-in wardrobe and am now installing the doors. Can people suggest the type of hinges I need?

Since the ends are flush with the wall, I cannot use traditional hinges as the door would hit the wall.

Thanks,
Pete.

I will be attaching the hinge to the wall and the inside of the door. If I used a traditional hinge, then when I open the wardrobe door, the wardrobe door will hit the wall and not fully open.

    Thanks,
    Pete.

You shouldn't attach the hinge to the wall. They should always be attached to a wooden framework. You could try this sort of hinge, a Flush hinge, but you'll need to use wall plugs for the screws on the walls. Not really recommended though.

Do you mean a flush hinge like this:

I might take your advice and attach a frame. Is there a site on hanging wardrobe doors I can follow?

    Thanks,
