it's a real long shot, but the dogs not an alsation called max is it?
by the way, try getting a dog zapper that omits ultra high sounds, it may work...0 -
MiserlyMartin wrote:... so I decided that rather then risk a neighbourly dispute that I would have to declare when selling the house, I would just quietly sell up anyway. As this was driving me so mad I knew that the slightest bit of 'attitude' from the people across the road if I were to say something would drive me into going into a full scale battle with environmental health, you name it I would have fought it. So I suffered in silence and sold, and feel 200% better for it thanks.
How did u manage your viewings of your home, with the dog barking constantly opposite - didn't it put them off or did u possibly throw a large piece of meat over the gate to keep it quiet before they arrived !
There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0 -
now you see, i have a rottweiler, and she is out in the garden most of the day... BUT she only barks of someone comes close to the gate and then its just a couple of woofs to let me know someone is there.. If she barked constantly & wud have to deal with it.. BUT i have spent a lot of time training her ... so when she barks to alert me i praise her n give her a treat, when she (use to) woof for no reason i wud say "shush" very sharply.... shes got the mesage quite quick... cant understand people who just let dogs be a nusance.
Even my neighbours (and im mid terrace) say they know when someone is lurkin because its the only time she barks... Mmmm should charge them for this service me thinks......
rant over.... loopsTHE CHAINS OF HABIT ARE TOO WEAK TO BE FELT UNTIL THEY ARE TOO STRONG TO BE BROKEN... :A0 -

My parents had a GS called Max! But he died 2 years ago now. Aren't 50% of alsatians called Max?!
No is one of those white fluffy little Westie things. It's not even a decent bark - more of a yap.
Don't get me wrong, I love dogs - always had them as a kid, but now as an adult I wouldn't dream of having one if it had to be left on it's own while we were out at work. Great believer in dogs needing company. Poor little sod, on it's own all day every day, even on weekends they bugg er off and leave it even though they aren't at work.0 -

I was tempted! Somebody from work said I should chuck some meat over for it. Don't poison it because you can get locked up for that!
Luckily most viewers and the people who bought the house viewed at at a lucky time when the dog was indoors. The dog was indoors more often on a weekend afternoon, this is when viewers usually came round. I had no problem selling because the house was so lovely. Only thing was where it was!

From what I remember the only thing it asks for is the question, " Have you ever had a dispute with a neighbour" and you have to tick the box yes or no. There might be a extra bit to give details if yes too can't quite remember but I'm sure one of the other more recent vendors here will chime in to confirm.....0 -
MiserlyMartin:
Take a look at this site - http://www.nfh.org.uk
It has lots of useful information regarding Neighbours' From Hell and also has info on the SPIF form that you are asking about.
I know what it is like to have barking dogs. We live near people that have a few. They bark at us when we are in our own kitchen (sunny day, open door).0 -
Thanks Becky that was what I wanted.
It only seems to want to know about disputes relating to property or things that neighbours have or haven't done to cause complaint. I'm not sure a dispute with them over their dog barking needs to be mentioned anywhere.
Anyone disagree? Here's the form.0 -
Making your neighbours aware of a problem does not necessarily mean you are in dispute and they could just be totally unaware that there is a problem.
Years ago I had to speak to a neighbour about a security light that flashed on and off all night into my bedroom - activated by the slightest waving shrub or tree.
He was unaware of the nuisance until I politely told him and he rectified it immediately.
It's easy to assume things will go badly from the off - but there ARE still decent people about, who like you, don't want to have to declare a 'dispute' and just by bringing something to the neighbours attention is often all it needs.0
