New Boiler Quote - fair price??

Hi all.......
I moved into my flat 2 years ago. I currently have a combi boiler. I have had a plummer out twice as it keep kettling and cutting out (overheating). Some days its ok and others it not. I've been advised that i need a new boiler, but currently is safe and it provides hot water and heater (when it feels like it).
He has quoted me £1000 for a new boiler and fit. Is this a good price? I only need the boiler replaced, the Flue etc is already in place. I have 5 radiators in my 1 bed flat and I only want a small boiler as its a small flat. Is this a fair quote or can it be done cheaper?
I want to sell my flat in a few months so dont want something to expensive.
Would be great for some advise...
thanks alot

Totally depends on what boiler it is doesn't it?
Don't know if it's a good quote without that!

Sounds low to me so i'm guessing either its not a very good boiler or corners are going to be cut. Make sure his CORGI-registered.
The best way to find out if its a fair quote is to get more quotes. Even if you end up with the first, it's always worth getting at least 3 quotes in. Save yourself time and hassle though and dont bother getting British Gas to quote you as even with their "discounts" they still charge way over the odds.

Good afternoon: Make and model of boiler? Your location in the UK? Heating and DHW requirements? Is your installer CORGI and will he be following Best Practice and manufacturer's specifications? Notification of the installation to Building Control? Based on the price and reusing the flue:eek: I doubt it.
