Young Persons Railcard

Hi
I've got a young persons railcard that expires in November. I'm 25 now and my birthday is in July.
I read somewhere that you could renew and get a couple of extra months added on if you were renewing just before your birthday - is this true or have I misunderstood?

When I had a card you could only renew it up until your birthday. That was a few years ago, don't know if they have become more generous since then?Gone ... or have I?0

4. Can I renew my Railcard in advance?
You can renew your Railcard up to one month in advance of its expiry date (providing there is no break in continuity) if you renew at a station ticket office or over the phone.
Renewing in advance online is only available if you purchased your last Railcard online. If you're buying online for the first time, your Railcard will start from the date of purchase, not from the renewal date. So we would advise buying it as close to your renewal date as possible.
So presumably I'm stuffed and will need to buy one a day before my birthday!Tim0 -

To make the most of the card you will need to buy one the day before your 26th birthday. So, in effect, you will be paying twice from July to Nov, but you should recoup that extra cost fairly quickly.
This is the bit from the Ts & Cs that probably concerns you>
"Special note for 25 year olds –
As long as you are aged 25 at the time that the Railcard is purchased, you may still travel at the discounted fare throughout the validity period of the Railcard, even if you become 26 years old during that time."0
