do they have bba approval or similar for their product
if not avoid0 -
Hi Yes I have used them twice in the past, and was very pleased with the work. I used the company based in Lincolnshire is that the same one you are looking at?
If so I would recommend, roof once done comes with a 50 year guarnantee which was a real bonus when I came to sell.Always on the hunt for a bargain0 -
Search the site there other threads on it. The general thought from everyone is that its a scam, a very similar scam to the "seal your walls" rubbish that was the rage a few years back.0

Hi Roddy
Did you go with Rooftec - what did you think? I'm confused by two opposite ends of spectrum feedback about them and it sounds fabulous!!!
(they gave a pretty convincing answer when I asked how they underwrite the insurance thing)
interested to hear what all have to say on this
Thanks

Suzie is getting confused with flat roof I think.Other guy ????? no, try roof-coaters.com 12 yrs in trade and seem to have good rep, offers etc: Most coating cos started wiyhin past 3-4 tears, 60 yrs warranty not existing on roof coating. That is fibreglass, flat roof I think0

Bear in mind a 50 year guarantee is virtually worthless unless it is backed by a bona fide Insurance company. If it's not Insurance backed then it means the business itself in effect underwrite the guarantee and they have a habit of going bankrupt and as soon as they do the guarantee goes with them0

I have dealt with 3-4 insurance backing service companies offering their wares. ALL do very little for their %age, pass on the issues to the insurance company who will do everything in their power not to pay out and probably have no 'experts' to send around anyway (usually blame the fitters who were contractors and not covered), . Just another safety valve that customers pay more for and the seller gets commission on. Great for everyone except the customer.:A0 -
Just had a look at rooftec website. They state they have 30 years experience in roof coating. 5 years ago there was about 5 companies in the UK offering roof coating. Now there are about 120 from 'travellers' doing £600 botch jobs, to aquashield (search that name on here) who charge as much as a new roof and are a direct selling company commission only and ALL staff are self employed.
In between there are the 3-4 that have always been around, but 30 years is c*ap, most of these companies have been doing coating for less than 3 yrs and they may be members of many associations as personal members which means nothing. Grumpy yes.0
