Taking Food into Ireland

Hi we're soon off to Ireland, travelling Pembroke - Rosslare and are wondering if any of you are aware of any import restrictions on the food stuffs that may be taken in ie Fruit, veg, meat. Or are the prices over there such that it wouldn't be necessary to take stuff with us. We're just not sure as £ - Euro rate's not great at the moment. Also is petrol cheaper over there? Thanks in advance.
