Spilt Coke on Laptop ...... (Direct Line)

Apparently homeserve will get in contact with me soon ..... anyone had dealings with them ?0

Homeserve handle the outsourced business for Direct Line so if you are waiting for a call from Homeserve it is to discuss replacement of the item. Homeserve do not do any kind of claim validation for contents insurers - the cases are passed to them pre-validated and Homeserve simply go about sourcing a replacement. I think they use DSG (Currys/Dixons/PC World) and Comet as their fulfillment houses.
So it looks like if Homeserve have the case all is well

Did everything get sorted with this?
I did exactly the same thing earlier in the week. Well the dog jumped up and knocked me when the postman came to the door. I was gutted as got quite alot of data saved on the hard drive.
I'm also insured through direct line and only ever claimed once in 6 years with them and that was storm damage to the chimney stack and it only cost around £300 to fix.
The only thing I'm worried about is them finding a replacement laptop as the one that is broken is around 4 years old and is a medion laptop and the spec is quite old compared to what is for sale these days.
Just waiting for a call on Monday at quarter to 30
