Paying for things online using your Bt phonebill??

Hello! I was just looking at a family tree website and noticed a pay per view service on their records. Pretty simple...pay for every record you view.....the thing that got me stumped was when it said you can transfer the cost to your bt phonebill?? Its a very reputable website so im not doubting their methods but I just couldnt get my head around how that works?

Do you have to sign up for anything first or do you basically start clicking on the records and get charged? The latter im thinking isnt the way as ive already asked a question about diallers before and was told its impossible for you to connect to other numbers like that on broadband.

Any insight would be great,cheers!

I don't know which website you are talking about but its probably using the http://btclickandbuy.com/ payment system - which is a bit like Paypal - but has an agreement with BT which means that that can offer you the option of having the cost of goods/purchases added to your BT Phone Bill which you would then pay as normal.

    It doesn't use diallers etc..

I see! Is it something you have to sign up for then not just something that would appear on my bt account without knowing? Thankyou for your help:beer:

Yes, you would have to sign up and provide enough information for them to be sure that you are the BT account details (or have the account details)
