    I do despair sometimes.

Fender-Girl (the OP) has been back on MSE since nearly every post (every one except #21 in fact) on this thread has been posted, but hasn't bothered to reply to any of them or thank any of them.

Fender-Girl - if you are bothering to read this - please don't be so rude in future. If people spend their time answering your questions, do them the favour of responding and/or thanking them.

Has it not crossed your mind that THIS is EXACTLY the reason WHY I haven't commented back on here? It seems to me that whatever I say stirs up some kind of personal attack, direct or indirect. So far, I have been called an idiot and an insensitive niaf!

For the record, I am genuinely appreciative to all those that have given me advice on the situation. I have spoken to Alliance & Leicester (MBNA) who were less than helpful. They insist that they have done nothing wrong. Basically - to cut a long story short, they insist it's all my fault and that I have no option but to pay these charges. My account has been cancelled forthwith - seems that there is no room for loyalty or good customer service nowadays.

Once again - thank you to all the genuine helpers who have given me advice, and to the minority that make it so off-putting to ask for help, please take solace in critising me for "moaning".

    Rant over.

And remember, MBNA are your credit card provider not A&L, your beef is with MBNA.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Fender girl, I never called anyone insensitive. I said that whoever reported my first post was an over-sensitive naif. I have no idea if it was you; I actually suspected one of the lovely fluffy people:p who thought the comments you recieved were a bit harsh. There was no personal attack.

I intensely dislike posters who use phrases similar to "I have been scammed" or "it's a con" when they have just not read the small print.
    Bleat on little lambs.
    I can't agree more. :)
