Selling a axa sunlife with profits policy

I have had an axa sunlife bonus cash builder plan for 8 years now and I have decided to surrender it as I need the cash and would rather find a better investment. The current cash in value is £1840 but have been told I may be able to get more by selling the policy. Does anyone know if this is true and if so how would I go about it? Please can someone help because the figure only stands for the next week

Thanks Donna
Titch :)

extremely unlikely you will be able to sell this. It isnt a conventional with profits endowment policy and it isnt likely to be in much demand either as its a rather poor plan.

I know this is hindsight on your part but it may help others thinking about buying something advertised on telly by a minor or old celeb. Most of these products are sold direct only or boast that no salesman will call because they are basically crap and no financial advisor would touch them. If you buy something yourself, you have no comeback as you only have yourself to blame.

The exception maybe that AXA were fined earlier in the year (or late last year) regarding these plans and those taken out between a certain period can ask to have their premiums refunded plus interest (or something like that). If yours falls in that period, you may find thats the best way to go.
