3 mobile network warning

I received my monthly statement today. To my surprise I had around 80 calls listed to the 3 customer directory. Each call is listed a 1 minute (though there are up to 6 calls made in a minute) in duration and costs 42p.
I phoned 3 customer services to query this. I was basically told that I may not have locked my handset (plausible) and that the handset had dialled the number.
Okay, maybe more fool me.
The point is that this number was pre-listed in my phone book, I did not add it. Also, this 'service' will hang up if there is no response after 6 seconds of answering; charging the default 1 minute to your account and allowing your phone to connect again.
Advice - remove pre-listed numbers and / or always lock your handset.

Thanks for that warning, I've just deleted all the pre-programmed numbers from Tesco and I keep my handset locked.0
