Can anyone personally recomend a London B&B hotel that would cost no more than around £50 per night for a single ensuite room.
Dosn't have to be to central.
Have checked out trip advisor but that seems to be full of horror stories.

I'm going to the Strand Palace for £50 (room only) in October. Booked through https://www.laterooms.com the rack rate is about£119 per night.
I also checked tripadvisor about this hotel and for every good review there sems to be a bad one.I'll make up my own mind when I get there.

Although I live in London,I don't usually stay in hotels.Try a broker such as
http://www.web-london-hotels.com and see the ones that come within your budget. Then contact the brokers and ask them for a personal commendation. There
are also the travelodges http://www.travelodge.co.uk0 -
Have also used https://www.laterooms.com and found a brilliant deal through them. Paid around half the usual tariff. One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0

I stay in central London hotels regularly. You will not get anything in central london B&B or hotel for £50 that is anywhere decent.
As you don't mind staying outside Central London the best site I have found with deals on is https://www.visitlondon.com This site has some good deals but they are per person and you could be travelling alone which doubles the price.
The only WEB site for London that advertisies prices per room is https://www.londontown.com which I recommend. On the hotel page is a small hotel B&B option try that.
For Central London minimum you will pay is £80 unless you strike a bargain through Londontown.com when hotels are not meeting advance booking quotas, but you will not get these in October.
One hotel on Upper Woburn Place (Opp London Euston Station) advertises single rooms for £40 per night including VAT and english breakfast. I think it is called the London Hotel. On my next visit to London later in the week I am deliberately making my way to central london through Bloomsbury to get more details on the hotel. if I remember I will post a further bulletin later in the week.0 -

https://www.lastminute.com do a thing where they won't tell you the name of the hotel, but show you the location and photos, so you can use the https://www.expedia.co.uk map function and try and work it out.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
As Promised here is my update following my trip to London.
The link is to a hotel group based around Bloomsbury.
Decide for yourself which hotel you pick.
They are all on one road that although the road name changes you end up on the Aldwych in theatreland. Also about 5 minutes walk to a Weatherspoons Pub called the Shakespeares Head.
