Hi i recieved a letter from my bank yesterday informing me that i had used my bank account to pay for three things (each thing was less than £10) and that i would be charged £35.00 for each use. I recieved another today informing me that i had also used my card for another two payments (both under £20) a few days after the first time (but before i had evenm recieved the first letter) and that i would be charged a further £35 for each of the charges.
In total that would mean 5 x 35 = 175.
i know it sounds confusing, but can anyone help me on what i have to do? because im a student, on about £40 a week and cant afford to pay STUPID charges like that.
i didnt know my bank account had hit its limmit, and it continued to let me spend, and they only sent me my first letter over a week after i spent the money, therefore, of course i had been using my account in the meantime? do i have to pay that much or could i argue against it? if you can help me please respond asap. thankyou !!!! emily x

Hi Emily
Please click the links in my signature to read Martin's information on reclaming.
It sounds as though it may be worth using Internet banking if your account offers this to keep an up to date eye on your transactions. Banks don't always reject transactions if you exceed a limit and some don't even send letters any more.0
