CTC Reduced when they turn one?

Just wanted to confirm something with all you fine people

Once your child reaches one do your tax credits reduce?

I sure hope that is right as mine did and my wages hadnt changed - was a little confused though, who knew when they turn one they eat and poo less

reduces by £545 a year when they reach one,i suppose their date of birth gives it away :-)

For first year you get the "baby element" extra £10 I think

I think they assume their are more 'start up' costs in the first year. However, based on that argument, perhaps they should have a teenage fashions element too? x
