benefits and small inheritance

How will an inheritance of £10k effect my husbands JSA!? We dont know what we plan to do with the money, we are thinking of an ISA with £3k of it. We dont have the money right now, probably next week, but we dont know what to do with it.

He should still be able to claim but you will have to declare it, if you dont and it is found out then you could be in trouble!!

Is he claiming contributions based JSA, or income based?

If contributions based, it will not affect his payments. If he is claiming income based JSA, it may affect his payments.

Either way you need to tell them x

But if you are getting HB/CTB then you need to tell the council as (some of it) will be taken into account for those purposes.
