Moneysupermarket travel insurance - BEWARE!

Options

I took Martins's advise this to obtain holiday insurance through Moneysupermarket.com

The first attempt to get my Debit Card payment was declined (security block put on by Lloyds TSB) by Netbanks and I got a message on the screen about that. So I assumed it had not been processed.

The second time I used my CC which was authorised.

Lloyds TSB tell me the first one was actually authorised so to me this is a nice little scam if a lot of people do not check their card statements so MoneySupermarket have had the money twice for one policy.

If this is their regular scam it is a nice little earner and you should all carefully check your CC Statements if it happens to you.

  • Hi

I manage the travel insurance area of moneysupermarket and I can assure you that no scams have or are in place.

If your payment has been taken twice then I do apologise and if you would like to contact me with your name, date of purchase (or policy number if you have this to hand) and I will ensure that my team look into this for you and refund any overpayment that has been made.

If you would like to email me my details are peter.gerrard@moneysupermarket.com or 07876 341933.

    Peter,

You should be aware that you need permission to post as a representative of an organisation, and to do this you need to contact the Abuse Team. If you click on the red triangle, you can email them. Also, usually email addresses and contact numbers are not allowed to be posted, however this is something that you can discuss with the Team.

Whilst I agree with what dmg24 is saying I also applaud Peter for coming on here and offering to get it sorted.
How many other companies who balls up would do this?

It's hardly a 'scam' and I'm sure it's something that could be sorted out very easily.

I can't belive you are allowing a rival site to post on here (even if he is defending fairly harsh allegations).

What next? Are we going to see people from This Is Money (the Daily Mail site) coming on here...

This place has gone down hilll....;)
