Is there actualy a hole.....You cant fail an MOT just for a simple dent no matter where it is.

hmmm I think I would trust the garage more than an amatuer mechanic trying to get out of paying to fix something
I very much doubt the MOT'er would lie either given its fairly obvious you would claim under warranty and find out there deception0 -
The only point you could of failed for is 'severe distortion' within 30cm of a mount.
