I get charged £ 2.68 on my BT quarterly phone rental for a basic BT dial tone that I no longer have, so how do I get this charge removed from the bill.
Anyone else had this problem and resolved it?
PS I have an old phone, not the original BT phone I can hand back if that is what you have to do.

Just phone up BT Customer service, tell them you no longer wish to rent handset. They will cease it,and probaly send you bag to return it in.Just send the old phone you have back.PF.0 -
They probably won't even ask for the phone back0

you need to phone BT and ask them to take the £2.68 off your bill . Tell them you have your own phone .BT will send you out a jiffy bag to to return there phone ,which you are suppose to return via post and get proof of postage .The problem is they may know which type of phone you had in the first place . I would simply do nothing with the jiffy bag . If they contact you in the future ( unlikely )asking for the phone you could always say you didnt receive any bag to send it back you therefore thought they didnt want it and disposed of the phone .I think they just dump the phones anyway .0

I'm surprised people still rent phones these days when it can turn out even more expensive than just buying one.
It's rare these days that phones go faulty (touch wood - lol).0 -
Last year a relative of mine did the same thing, they were sent a jiffy bag, they forgot to send the bag back, and they still have the phone and bag. Bt havent bothered them about it.PF.0
